What's New?

First...MY KITTY relaxing in the living room:

OK... enough kitties...Updates:

getting rid of the wholes in the door by hammering in ill fitting white pegs...

peeling off the tape...this is what blue tape did...

peeling off the tape...this is what the green tape did...

LESSON: GO GREEN!

bought this chair...(along with a coffee and side table)...

my living room is now cozy...

and so we had a PARTY! (well invited over 2 friends)...

This is my porch. Apparently there are people in town complaining about the appearance of my porch hurting their property values. So instead of spending my money on a sink in my bathroom, or insulating pipes in my basement, or getting a basement door, or windows that close, or screens without holes, or cabinets in my kitchen, or up to code plumbing with scald guards, or fix the grout in my shower, or blinds for the rest of my house other than bedroom, or shelves in my pantry,... I could go on...

THEY believe TOP of that list is trimming the hedges to proper shape, putting in a walkway to a front door I don't use, and emptying a porch I use as convenient storage and instead storing tools, tiles, and stuff I plan to sell in a basement or attic or garage where it's not as climate controlled or easily accessible, SO THAT when they drive by... the look of my front porch is more appealing to them.

SO I will be figuring out how to get a happy medium accomplished AND FAST.

It's Arriving @ Lowes SATURDAY

This is what it will look like in my bathroom (note the awesome sand paint, bath tile, bronzed faucet, and floor tile).

Odds & Ends...well really just odds...

I get inspired by some unique items. No clue where they will go in the house.

Found this at the dollar store...isn't it dignified looking?

Easter gift from Brendan as I had longed for it whilst fan shopping at Lowes and he noticed!

I thought she was pretty (came from Marshall's).

Hmmm,... seems like I have a thing for dignified water dwellers. Got this bad boy from Home Goods.

iCOLOR! 2

Downstairs bathroom: the tile in the bathtub is like a grayish blue, the walls will be a gritty beige, the tile is a mix of the yellow and grays, the grout dark to bring out the gray tones and the saddle (not shown) goldy looking to tie the beige and yellows in the tile and walls into the hall where the walls are gold.

Upstairs bathroom: the tile is a little more blue in it than the downstairs with similar grays and golds to bring in the sea pine colored walls (similar to the dark blueish greenish square in the pic), the gray speckled white tile in the shower, and the tan glazed white vanity. The grout is tan/gold in to try and bring that out a little more, as well as connecting to the goldy saddle that again runs out to a hall with (this time lighter) gold walls.

This is the carpet I am getting for the bedroom and upstairs hall.

MEANWHILE...

In my last post I went over March 27th Saturday morning-> evening festivities at the house, meanwhile...

We went SHOPPING! Uncle John got us the Lowes employee discount.

It took some creative thinking getting the crown & base mouldings up to the bedroom. After which we painted them all and put them in Harry Potter's bedroom.

Danny was the typical labourer (drinking beer and goofing off with power tools). Meanwhile Uncle John worked on trying to fit a rectangular door in a trapezoidal opening (didn't work).

End of the day celebrating:

A Lost Day: Saturday Feb 27

My mother and grandmother came to visit. This would not be the last for my mother, as she became the beacon of cleanliness in the house. In addition to bringing to attention the necessity of scrubbing the walls prior to painting them, she supplied most of the cleaning supplies, including but not exclusive to about 15 rolls of paper towels. No exaggeration.

Sadly the work day was shortened due to my car acting up (check engine light on and cruise control blinking). After sometime at a local diner waiting, and wandering about R.S. Strauss finding fun product labels (see below), I discovered nothing, and its still happening. Taking it to Auto Tech this weekend.

Aftermath...

First of all, who would "special order" this? U-G-L-Y you ain't got no alibi, you ugly ... yeah yeah, you ugly. *whoops to anyone that has this carpet, if you feel your carpet is similar, realize that you have the Cinderella to this ugly stepsister of a foot fabric*

And then after a long day of house renovating and wandering about Home Depot (who has nothing on Lowe's btw) we ate. (I know to the reader it may seem very soon after lunch, but it was like 8:30 by the time we ate dinner.)
