Demolition Day 3: Growth

So we started day three looking like:

(Is that lumber on your front lawn or are you just happy to see me?)

However by the time we got home a new growth had emerged! So begins the MASTER BEDROOM!

Also, check out this sexy back door from the back!

Demolition Day 2: Harry Potter conversion to our Master Bedroom begins

Here's a shot from when Brendan checked on it during the day...

But at night it was much more sinister...

And gone... sinnister and totally gone...

Demolition Day 2: Around the House

Everything looks fairly normal from this angel, and then...

Check that out! Cool Pics coming soon from the inside...

Window is gone, backdoor finding shape...

Back window/door changes...

Two Months

This past weekend marks two months since the blizzardy day I closed on the house (according to my documents). Technically I signed over power of attorney that day so my lawyer could close for me (the sellers didn't want to come out in the blizzard) and we dated the documents Feb 10 so my rate lock wouldn't expire.

So here I am 2 months later. Sunday, lugging a few boxes in, kinda mystified that move-in is around the corner. It doesn't look move-inable yet but it's gobs better than it began.

So far brought in my Christmas decorations, and about 10 boxes of books, cds, and dvds. Also brought the spare towels and some other odds and ends...
...One small step for moving, one giant leap for making my house a home.

MEANWHILE...

In my last post I went over March 27th Saturday morning-> evening festivities at the house, meanwhile...

We went SHOPPING! Uncle John got us the Lowes employee discount.

It took some creative thinking getting the crown & base mouldings up to the bedroom. After which we painted them all and put them in Harry Potter's bedroom.

Danny was the typical labourer (drinking beer and goofing off with power tools). Meanwhile Uncle John worked on trying to fit a rectangular door in a trapezoidal opening (didn't work).

End of the day celebrating:

More Secret Stashes

So many ice cube trays, and tucked in all areas of the cabinetry like they were hiding them from someone. Mmmmm, grenadine.

I couldn't just throw this out! What if it's tasty?

I understand the wax paper and ant traps, but a pacifier?... The youngest of the children is like 50. May be a grandchild's? I hope...

This woman was a bigger mini-bottle collector than I am. May be...

Words cannot describe the rest of these treasures.

Beds, Baths, and Beyond

To the left of the cabinet in the kitchen is a door that leads to bedroom number one:

Forward and out the door, looking to the left (other side of wall where laundry machines are)...bathroom number one.

Across from the bathroom are the stairs up.

Now to the left of the stairs is the master bedroom, we will call it bedroom number two.
(note the Pepto Bismol walls, hints of hot pink carpeting, and to the right there is a tiny room that only fits a desk and a window- a traditional sewing room?)

Across from the stairs we have bathroom number two. Pictures are as if looking from left to right.

(sink would be pretty if cleaner)

(above the toilet to the right of the sink, fleur de lys makes it classy, no?)

(vanity area/linen closet)

(shower, needs work done, like new grouting)

To the right of the stairs, the Harry Potter Bedroom, attic, woman cave, studio...aka Beyond.
(to the right and left of entrance are spots for a dresser or something. They left this dresser, the other side is still creepy)

(window and vent behind me)
